The management of Obafemi Awolowo University through the office of the Dean, Division of Students’ Affairs (DSA), has debunked rumour informing all students to evacuate belongings from halls of residence.

A release signed by the Dean, Prof. I. O. Aransi, stated that the earlier information did not emanate from the DSA. The release urged students to stay at home till further notice.

The school has been shut down since late March as a result of the global pandemic which has killed over 600,000 people. As at the time of writing this report, there is no clarity about when tertiary institutions will resume.

The DSA also noted that students are currently not allowed into the halls of residence until the university reopen for academic activities
